Army Entertainment
Army Entertainment is entertainment "for the soldier, by the soldier." Their mission is to bring high energy, modern entertainment to soldiers and their families. They do this through a few different groups. Soldier Show, USA Express, Concert Series, and Operation Rising Star. Soldier Show is a travelling 90 minute "Vegas Variety" type show that travels to over 60 installations world wide each year, while Concert Series provides the stage support for A list entertainment like Sugarland, Tim McGraw, and Lynard Skynard. USA Express is a smaller rock band that is able to travel to a lot of remote oconus locations due to their size, and Operation Rising Star is the Army's version of American Idol.
The unique thing about each of these groups is it is made up of soldiers of the United States Army. These aren't hired hands or professional touring musicians. They are everyday soldiers with unique talents that come to entertain.
The work we provided was for Soldier Show. Prior to the 90 minute performance, there were features and stories playing on the TV's in the theatre as part of a pre show loop. There was also content during the show that was formatted to enhance the audience's experience, adding to the performance on stage.
In addition, Pantless Productions was also contracted to produce the 2009 show video. The shoot consisted of four cameras. Two handheld, one stationary, one 24ft jib. All the singers tracks were individually captured and later mixed down on ProTools HD. We provided a complete start to finish solution to their request, all within a very short time frame.
